We are extremely pleased with the quality, freshness and tastes! The lettuces and greens in the produce cooler right now were picked Thursday morning, so they are still fresher now (and for the next week!) than anything we (or Publix) could ever get through any of our distributors. Appleseed members get 10% off on all produce. Delivery is usually late Thursday evening but is sometimes Friday morning. Try it and help build the volume so we can bring the prices down. YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED!! Not just for us as we try to bring more local products to our community, but ESPECIALLY for our local farmers. The Kann family is working hard to bring products from their farm and from other farms in their community to us, and we are doing our best to support them. Right now we are at the lowest volume and therefore the highest prices, and the delivery charges are also a high percentage of the cost at this low a volume. But sometimes you really do get what you pay for - and this is about more than money. It is about the best fresh taste and nutrition, making a positive impact on the planet with the energy saved not trucking produce thousands of miles (the average distance produce travels is 1500 miles!), and supporting our endangered small family farmers. Spend a little extra on the heirloom Fancy Lettuce or Salad Mix, and tell us what you think after you eat it. You are what you eat.
